More Than a Firm. Family Committed to Yours.

About Us

Polychronis Financial Services opened its doors in 2000, when John Polychronis set out to build something different: a firm where clients always came before products. That commitment paid off quickly. When he made the move, 95% of his clients came with him, a vote of confidence that still shapes how we operate today. Over the years, the firm has grown into a true family business. John's children, Joe and Stefanie, each joined the office bringing their own skills and perspective, helping evolve the company and elevate the experience every client receives. What began as one man's promise to always do right by his clients has grown into a family legacy, one that's never lost sight of where it started.

Our Founder

Meet John Polychronis

John Polychronis brings over 45 years of experience in the insurance industry to Polychronis Financial Services, which he founded in 2000. Raised on a farm in Somersworth, New Hampshire, and a graduate of the University of New Hampshire's business program, John began his career with Franklin Life in 1980 before spending 22 years at MetLife, where he became one of the company's top producers. Due to their corporate policies interfering with his ability to do what was best for his clients, he decided to start his own agency. As an independent insurance specialist, he works with a wide range of carriers to build low-risk retirement solutions, including annuities and life insurance, tailored to each client's needs. Outside the office, John enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, golfing, and exploring local restaurants around Rochester.

    John Polychronis

    Founder

With over 45 years in the insurance industry, John Polychronis has built his career on a simple but powerful belief: people come before products. After two decades within a corporate structure that didn't share that philosophy, he went independent — and in 2000, Polychronis Financial Services was born.

As an independent insurance agent, John works with a wide range of carriers to offer low-risk retirement solutions through annuities and insurance products, with the freedom to find what truly fits each client rather than what a company wants to sell.

What sets John apart goes beyond the numbers. His decades of experience with life insurance and annuities have given him a deep understanding of the emotional side of retirement— walking alongside clients through one of life's biggest transitions, helping them not just secure their financial future, but clarify what they want it to look like.

When he's not with clients, you'll find him on the golf course, exploring local restaurants, traveling, or at home in Rochester with his children and grandchildren — enjoying the same kind of fulfilling life he helps his clients plan toward every day.

    Joe Polychronis

    CEO

Joe Polychronis didn't take the traditional path into financial services — and that's exactly what makes him effective. He began his career in the trades, where he developed a hands-on work ethic and a straightforward approach to getting things done right. When he transitioned into finance, those qualities came with him, and they show in everything he does for his clients.

As an RICP® and Owner at Polychronis Wealth Management, Joe specializes in helping individuals, families, and small businesses build retirement plans that are both comprehensive and easy to understand. He blends investment and insurance strategies to create income plans that hold up through market changes — turning years of hard work into a personalized strategy. For small business owners, he also brings that same thoughtful approach to employer-sponsored retirement plans.

What drives Joe is simple: helping people feel confident about their future. He takes the time to truly understand each client's goals and lifestyle, building plans that don't just make sense on paper, but actually fit the life they're working toward.

When he steps away from the office, Joe can usually be found on the golf course, working on a woodworking project, or hunting down a great new restaurant — a man who appreciates both craftsmanship and a good meal.

    Stefanie Ragonese

    Vice President

Stefanie Ragonese has been a cornerstone of Polychronis Financial Services since 2020, serving as a Life Insurance and Annuity Specialist and now as Vice President of Annuities. Licensed across four states — New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, and Arizona — she brings both breadth of expertise and a deeply personal approach to every client relationship.

Stefanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2020) and an Associate of Science in Behavioral Science (2018), a background that gives her an understanding in what clients truly need as they navigate the path to retirement. Her commitment to community and leadership is reflected in her service as an AmeriCorps Alumna and as a proud member of the Leadership Seacoast Class of 2025.

At the heart of Stefanie's work is a genuine passion for people. She believes that retirement planning isn't just a financial journey — it's a deeply personal one — and she takes pride in creating an environment where clients feel comfortable, heard, and supported every step of the way. Building lasting relationships isn't just part of her job; it's what drives her.

Outside the office, Stefanie lives in Dover with her husband Drew, their two children and two dogs. When they're not exploring the Seacoast or chasing their little ones outside, the family is busy renovating their charming 1950s Cape — putting down roots one project at a time.

Independent. Personal. Always in Your Corner.

Our Difference

As an independent office, we aren't tied to any one company's products, so every recommendation we make is based on what's genuinely best for you. We take the time to understand your full story before we ever talk solutions, and we measure our success by the confidence you feel walking out our door.

Our Values

Always Do What's Right for the Client

That's not a slogan. It's the standard we've held since day one. It means answering the phone when you call, explaining things in plain language, and never pushing a product that doesn't fit your life. It's a promise we've kept for over two decades, and one we intend to keep for many more.

Community Engagement

Rooted in the Seacoast Community

We've called the Seacoast home for decades, and giving back matters to us as much as the work we do for our clients. From supporting the Dover Children's Home and Monarch School of New England to sponsoring local youth athletics and hospital projects, we're proud to give our time and resources to the community that's supported us for over 25 years.
